Living a fulfilled existence can be just as much about the things you don’t do as well as the things you decide to take on. Here are 5 things you can consider cutting out of your daily routine to make more time for things that move you closer towards your goals.
Stop spending time with the wrong people
Choose your relationships wisely. Surround yourself with a network of supporters who enjoy being around you as much as you enjoy being around them.
Stop putting yourself last
There are likely special people in your life to whom you give your time. Loving others and making others feel special is a wonderful feeling, but not if it comes at the expense of neglecting yourself. Be sure your own needs are also being met and you’ll be surprised at how much more fulfilling your love for others will soon flourish.
Stop being scared
Trial and error is the first step to mastery. No one should ever expect perfection and every attempt (and possible failure) is one step closer towards success. Dwelling on problems without taking action won’t move you towards a solution. The world doesn’t reward perfection, it rewards progress.
Stop holding grudges
Live your life with love in your heart. A grudge never hurt anyone except for the person who is holding on to it. Forgiveness is letting go of the hurt and releasing the hurt you’re placing on yourself because of it. It’s as much for yourself as it is for others. Let go, find peace, and liberate yourself.
Stop and smell the roses
Take a break. Seriously. Pause in your life and enjoy the little things, even if you don’t think there are any around you. Make the time to take a deep breath and you’ll realize that the renewed sense of energy it gives you far outweighs the time you took to reset.
